The surround view automotive camera system is a rapidly developing application. Using the rear view camera as a starting point, multiple-camera surround view systems provides the driver with unmatched situational awareness by allowing a view around the entire vehicle during critical maneuvers. Next generation surround view systems will fuse other sensor technologies, providing an active intelligent network to assist the driver. Future surround view systems have the potential to replace other sensor technologies in existing applications such as blind spot monitoring (BSM).
